NITHYA, is a young, chic and sustainable fashion brand exploring the potential of traditional Sri Lankan crafts when combined with new age fashion. Her signature style is cool, carefree, gamine like womenswear that speaks to the modern woman with a sense of creativity. With a modernist eye for silhouette, technique and colour, NITHYA collections are always comprised of fantastic graphic fabrics and chic, wearable pieces. The brand was launched in 2012 by Nithya Lamahewa, a fashion design graduate from Northumbria University through AOD in Sri Lanka. NITHYA’s quest is to empower the rural communities who live, breathe and practice the traditional crafts of batik and handloom by integrating contemporary fashion know-how to their expert handwork.
